You are drinking... #19
A 5.3% Black IPA, one of around 750 pints available of this batch.
Doesn't really make sense as it can either be black or pale, but it's actually a thing. Basically an IPA but with rich, roasted malt flavour. Laaavly
It's made of
Water taken from a deep well under our feet tapping into a chalk hills fed, aquifer.
We've got Maris Otter base malt, crystal and chocolate malt. We've also thrown in a load of oats for extra thickness and sweetness.
Bittering - Chinook and Cascade (USA)
Aroma - Chinook, Cascade and Citra (USA)
Fermentis, Safale US-05 (American Ale Yeast)
Large head on it. Dark, maybe not black but pretty close. Call it a brown IPA if you'd rather - it still doesn't make sense.
Coffee and chocolate with a dank, hoppy funk. Like if someone dropped an Eastern Skunk Cabbage in your latte.
It's very sweet and roasty. The chocolate malt gives a light astringency and coffee taste. The hops hit hard with quite a well balanced bitterness blah blah
We won't be brewing this beer again so enjoy it while you can. We are on untappd (the app) so give us a rate and say something. If you hate it, even more of a reason. Cheers!
