You are drinking... #18

A 5% APA (American Pale Ale), one of around 750 pints available of this batch.

It's like your traditional English IPA, but with that heavy American influence in hop character.

It's made of

Liquor

Water taken from a deep well under our feet tapping into a chalk hills fed, aquifer.

Malt

We've got Maris Otter base malt and a sprinkling of 150L crystal malt to give it some colour and malt flavour. Nothing but barley malt.

Hops

Bittering - Chinook (USA)
Aroma - Chinook (USA)

Chinook are a pretty big name in the new IPA world. They're chock full of oils and acids, so they work wonders as an all round hop.

Yeast

Fermentis, Safale US-05 (American Ale Yeast)

It appears

Deep gold and clear, as an APA should. Nice head on it which should stay throughout the pint.

It smells

Funky fresh. It's pretty hoppy and aromatic. Single hopping makes for a very clean smell, and Chinook hops smell splendid we think.

It tastes

It's bitter and hop heavy. 46 bittering units. A nice lingering flavour with a sweet taste to it. High temperature mashing means it's still got plenty of body.

Finally

We won't be brewing this beer again so enjoy it while you can. We are on untappd (the app) so give us a rate and say something. If you hate it, even more of a reason. Cheers!
