You are drinking... #16
A 5.3% Tropical Citra IPA, one of around 750 pints available of this batch.
Following on from #15 with the Yanky style, we've dropped the ABV and turbo charged the hops. It's pretty bloody hoppy. If you don't like hoppy beers, you'll think this is vile. There will probably be some dishwater cask beer on the bar somewhere instead.
It's made of
Water taken from a deep well under our feet tapping into a chalk hills fed, aquifer. Chalk is supposed to accentuate hop extraction. It worked.
We've got Maris Otter extra pale malt, as well as a pinch of light crystal. Saltbae style.
Bittering - Citra (US)
Aroma - Citra (US)
Dry Hop - Citra (US)
Single hopping gives the beer a crisp hop finish, and citra hops are just so damn tasty so why put anything else in?
Fermentis, Safale US-05 (American Ale Yeast)
Like liquid gold. It has been sitting in the conditioning tank for 3 months, so it has cleared up nicely.
Like tropical punch. Or a punch from a bloke from the tropics. You'll smell it as it is being poured. Proper stanky. Lemon, orange, pineapple, passion fruit.
Hoppy, obviously. It's not that bitter, (40 IBU) but very citrusy. Pretty green, in like a homebrewed kind of way. There is a nice malt flavour under the hops, but this is definitely hop heavy. Don't know if I've mentioned that. Hops.
We won't be brewing this beer again so enjoy it while you can. We are on untappd (the app) so give us a rate and say something. Dave doesn't usually have a lot to do so spends his day reading all the comments and it's always surprising to hear what you lot have got to say. If you hate it, even more of a reason. Tell us we're crap, we like tough love ... Cheers!
